After updating my site from 6.26 to 6.30 the changes to the .htaccess files recommended by version 6.29 makes my sites images not show up in a stable manner (most are missing and some show up at random). Optimizing CSS and JavaScript in admin/settings/performance also didn't work anymore. I received a 500 server error at random too. One of my created views also simple vanished. In simple terms, updating past 6.29 totally screwed my once awesome active site. Now I look like a d**k to hundreds of actual returning users.

There seems to be major issues regarding Caching, Clean URL's and perhaps even Views with my server setup and the 6.29 .htaccess changes.

MySQL 5.1.68
PHP 5.4.24

I have completely emptied the contend of .htaccess in sites/default/files and sites/default/files/tmp and this makes images show up again as well as makes Clean URL's work again. Obviously this solution is not very good. Any suggestions or pointing in directions will be much appreciated. :)

After reading half the drupal.org site I realize now that the best thing to do is to stick to 6.26. Updating and upgrading in Drupal is always a horrible experience. Would be cool if they stop aiming for Drupal 10 and just fix what's broken first. I can't believe big companies would rely on this cms. Their developers must be hating drupal.

what i ended up doing is just put code into sites/default/files and skip doing the temp. then instal 6.31
also do you have clean url module installed.
