why not use cycle2?

I like this module so I would like to start with my compliments to the authors!

The reason I post here is because I was wondering why you wouldn't use the version 2 of the Cycle plugin? http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle2/ It's been out there for at least two years and has many more features then the first version.
