dkan update to work with drupal 8

D8 will have a lot of features that will be directly beneficial to DKAN. We will have to see as D8 gets closer which modules DKAN depends on are ready.

I'm sure this would be a big task, but I'm just curious what's the status of the modules DKAN needs.

Any update on this? It is becoming an issue at my organization and it would be helpful if there was some roadmap / plan for migration.

I'm also interested in an update on plans to migrate to drupal 8.

We have not started working on an D8 DKAN version. This is one aspect of productizing which is what we've done with DKAN. We are still investing in features in the D7 version and have dozens of clients. We don't have the resources right now to invest in a D8 version right now.

If folks are ready to start working on this or could sponsor initial DKAN D8 work please let me know as there are folks who have worked on the D7 version who could do the work. Starting off with a Dataset content type, search page, and data.json export would be reasonable to do in 100 hours or so and get D8 the most important features for a data catalog.
