Hi,

On my sites homepage I have a view with a grid which displays random content from one of my content types, when you click it it goes to the content page. This works fine.

What I want to do is instead of it going to the content page, I want a colorbox to popup with fields from the content page in it, and a link in the colorbox which the user can click to go to the actual content page. Do you get what I mean, so the user can get like a quick view of the content in a colorbox.

How would I achieve this please?

Hi,

I kinda figured it out, I have installed colorbox node and changed the view to display the content in a colorbox, but how do I get it to automatically use 1 of my content types different view modes?

So on my content page, I have custom display using display suite and I have 2 view modes, the main 1 which is how the content is displayed normally, and I have created another view mode which I want to be used if the content node is displayed inside a colorbox.

How do I do this please?

Sounds to me like you just need to create an image style and use that for the colorbox.
You can create an image style on the admin/config/media/image-styles page.
