I am developing a website to sell downloadable products. I have added the file download & role as product feature. I am using test payment gateway for processing. If I dont enable process @ checkout every thing works fine. ie.

1.user is sent an email stating the creation of account
2.another mail containing the product invoice.

After this I have to process the order manually. ie, click the process order button & charge the card.

as soon as this is done

3.user is sent the link to the product he has purchased.
4.he is granted the role of a registered member & has access to files he has purchased on his account.

everything is fine till here, but i want to automate the order process as the product is non shippable the customer should be charged at the checkout & should get access products very next moment.

when I select try processing the order at checkout, steps 3 & 4 dont take place, although the card is charged & the order status is shown as completed.

am I missing any steps?? please help
