Hi all,

I really need some explanation on the Radioactivity usage. The 'sort by Most active' stream on the homepage shows very old items first, and I cannot find any explanation on why they have such a high Radioactivity. I see items that haven't been updated in months having a radioactivity of 1481.03 (!!) - no comments or likes.

I tried installing a plain Commons 3.8 installation to see if my current install has issues, and I seem to be able to get the same odd behaviors. See screenshots:

Radioactivity edit form

Radioactivity database

1) Why has a group an activity of 32 by default, where a node has 8?

2) Why is there a difference between the value in the database and the value on screen? I assume it should just be a rounding factor, but for this value of 32, I see a 51.97 in the database. Odd?

Also, why does this post have value 17.9913 where the wiki just has 7.86029?

Please help. Is this a bug? Am I missing something?
