Problem/Motivation

Embedded images do not work when inserting inline

Proposed resolution

CKEditor does not support using wrapper comments (ie MEDIA-WRAPPER) when inserting inline. So as work around I using self closing span tags with data attributes to wrap.

Had to make a change cause it broke on our site again. This one should be more robust.
