Presently the locationmap block is wrapped in an <a> that sends the user to the locationmap node. I don't want the static map block to be clickable to the node. Please provide some way to enable/disable this in the UI.

The output of the block is all run through theme functions. You can use that to style how the block displays in any way you like.
