Drupal requires webhost, Drupal is a content management system (CMS), not a webhost

Oh, so should we be buying our own hosting in order to make our website with drupal? Is there any way to get free hosting in drupal .... ?

Drupal is not like Wordpress.

With Wordpress, you can host a blog in wordpress.com, and it's free and they host it for you. Or you can use the code you download from wordpress.org, for which you need hosting.

Drupal does not have an option to have a free blog hosted by Drupal. It's always a platform you download and set up on a hosting account somewhere. Many hosts have easy-to-use installers that will install Drupal in a few clicks, but you still have to have a hosting account.

Can you get free hosting with Drupal? I've nearly answered your question. There are, of course, hosts who offer free hosting packages. Usually they do this in the hope that you'll upgrade to their paid packages, and those paid packages may not be the best setups out there. Often the free packages are on desperately overloaded servers, or have very restrictive limits on the amount of server resource (like CPU you can use). Neither is good for Drupal, that needs a fairly generous amount of resources. Also, the free packages will often force adverts onto your site, and you have no control over what kinds of sites are advertised.

So you need a hosting account for Drupal, and I wouldn't recommend going with a free one. But it needn't cost you much more than a coffee or two each month.

One approach to free hosting that does work is to use Drupal Gardens. They use an enhanced version of Drupal 7 and you can only use the modules they provide, but it is one way to get your feet wet with Drupal.

You have to consider several factors while choosing hosting provider for your Drupal, including:
- Hosting location preference
- Resources you need for your project (are there many visitors hitting every day?)
- Try to avoid Unlimited hosting offers, better go and look for a reliable hosting provider, which gives exact amounts of web space, traffic, RAM, CPU, etc.
- Anothr good idea is to host your site under VPS , as this gives you strictly dedicated server resources.
