When I create an email report, I often would like to receive or specify an email box that will receive a copy of the email that was sent. In business processes that require email notifications, the ability to retain a copy for audit or reuse later is very important. Or sometimes someone outside of the population selected in the email, like a DL or customer service inbox needs a copy of the original email.
