After installing DS and other features, at first attempt to change the default layout (to this layout: capture1.png) - this was successful. Though (capture2.png) was presented, but the changes was not affected.
Per attachment (capture3.png), am stuck on this screen and that I had to use the menu (DS) link to access (capture1.png) this screen. Tried DS v7.1.x but resulted in the same issue. Setting the layout to then saving it then changing it again to a different layout but to no avail. Any help from the experts would be greatly appreciated.

Did you press the "save" button on the change layout screen?
Did you have any js errors?
What do your urls look like?
