I installed spamicide and have been running it for several hours. I typically get 4-8 spam registrations per hour. I am still getting that. According to the log, spamicide has only caught one. Bad Behavior and Honeypot are doing most of the heavy lifting blocking hundreds of spammers in that same time.

I suspect that
Having "leave this field empty" or "leave this field blank" in the description, which is what almost every antispam software using a hidden field does, is a dead giveaway. The software can just look for those key words and oblige. Or it is looking for feed_me.

Why not get rid of the giveaway description and let the user put in their own field name instead of the default feed_me?

Update:
4 or so hours after installing there have been no spamicide hits. I got one hit that showed up on the log immediately after installing the module, but none after that. I continue to get spam registrations. It seems that the spambots are hip to the hidden field and are avoiding it. Could it be something else?
