I believe I have the same error:

An AJAX HTTP error occurred. HTTP Result Code: 500 Debugging information follows. Path: /batch?id=226&op=do StatusText: Internal Server Error ResponseText: XMLSitemapGenerationException: Generated public://xmlsitemap/NXhscRe0440PFpI5dSznEVgmauL25KojD7u4e9aZwOM/2.xml resulted in an empty file. in XMLSitemapWriter->endDocument() (line 156 of {sitepath}/sites/all/modules/xmlsitemap/xmlsitemap.xmlsitemap.inc).

No matter what I try (I've been scouring the help docs today), I cannot get this module to generate a sitemap.

Update: I uninstalled 7.x-2.0 and installed 7.x-2.0-rc2. The sitemap generated correctly. No errors. So some difference between the release candidate an the release caused it to malfunction and produce the given error.

Same problem here:

XMLSitemapGenerationException: Generated public://xmlsitemap/NXhscRe0440PFpI5dSznEVgmauL25KojD7u4e9aZwOM/1.xml resulted in an empty file. in XMLSitemapWriter->endDocument() (Line 156 of /home/httpd/vhosts/[domainname]/httpdocs/sites/all/modules/xmlsitemap/xmlsitemap.xmlsitemap.inc).

Any Help?
