KML uploader in layer not functioning

In a clone of the example KML layer I upload a KML file tested in Google Earth 7.1.2.2041

When activating the layer with or without extracting the styles the kml file will not be shown in the map.

If I take exactly the same data and simply paste it into the layer with the Write KML function Openlayers will respond correctly.
