This seems so simple but I'm having no luck, and it's happening on two D7 sites. One is a couple/few years old the other is new, and they both use different themes.

I've enabled the main Metatag module (no submodules), and for the front Basic Page I have entered custom Description and Keywords but they do not show in the HTML.

It appears that the module is working because it is adding the shortlink and canonical link to Basic Pages, Views pages, and Webform pages (as desired, nice!!). I also see that non-front Basic Pages without custom Desc/Keywords have the full Body text in the Description, presumably due to the Metatag default setting for Content > Description being set to [node:summary].

How do I get manually added individual Basic Page settings for Description and Keywords to spit out?

Aha, I see I can set a number of front page metatags on the metatag admin page, and they output fine. Seems odd that entering them on the Basic Page node doesn't work at all, I would have thought they'd override any globals/defaults.

In order to use the meta tags from a node as the front page meta tags you must disable the "Front page" meta tag configuration on the admin/config/search/metatags page, then anything added to the node will be used.
