As soon as enabled, account_reminder sent reminders to all users who had not yet verified accounts... and kept sending the same message infinite times... It floods the mail server, seems to hang up apache and the running site.

new install or update? if update then is update from Drupal 5 or previous
Drupal 6 beta?

All updates have been run? What database MySQL or PostgreSQL?

Updated from 4.7, then transferred from a MySQL-4 server to MySQL-5 (though that shouldn't matter, apparently). . . It was the first time installing and using account reminder, and it was turned on simultaneously with several other new modules. (I know, I know...)

All updates had been run.

MySQL5 database.

However, I have just learnt that my service provider has been having problems with the server and suspect faulty memory under load. Some runaway Apache process has been crashing the server - and it could be my site's Drupal upgrade churning out infinite loops... but we just don't know for sure. Since I don't pay for hosting they've disabled my site in the meantime until they change hardware... and also to keep their mission critical stuff running ITMT.

I will update you once I've been re-enabled. Hopefully tomorrow.

Apologies if it's a buggy bug report. :-)

Thanks.

-Jeff

Server memory replaced and my site is running okay (www.wildcoast.com). Without running the risk of spamming my users or crashing my service provider's Apache again, is there anything I can do to help?

Thanks.

Were you ever able to have the module running smoothly on your site? If you'd like to tryout a newer release you can grab the latest development snapshot and test out to see if it resolves any possible problems.

If there's no response in a couple weeks I'll close this one out.
