Hello there,

Our page has a rather larger repository of documents (including PDF, DOC, SXW, and more), which we would like to publish on the webpage.
Required Features would be the indexing of these files, reviewing/rating, upload/download, and so on.
Nice (and simple) candidates could be:
- OpenDocMan: http://www.opendocman.com/
- DocMGR: http://docmgr.sourceforge.ne

OWL Intranet Knowledgebase (http://sourceforge.net/projects/owl/) is probably a bit extreme, the demo is looking really good but just too complicated for a simple document management. (it was suggested in another post)

Do you think it's worth to implement a new module for a document management system, or are the current drupal system + file management modules already enough (without indexing of course).

noone has said that they are working on this ... and yes, another module is needed.

There is this discussion of WebDAV.

According to Gerhard, apparently the rewrite rules for clean urls seem to interfere with WebDAV.

He made the comment during October 2004, would be interesting to see if there have been changes to WebDAV to improve compatibility.

Somebody found out what the problem was and posted a solution for improved rewrite rules to drupal-devel.

There is an upload indexer in cvs. Document handling as a whole needs some improvement though.
