Hi there,

Congratulations on this effective module. However, there are a few issues I'd like to comment on.

First of all, it would be great if you could include separate permissions, instead of only one "administer badges" priviledge. Aside from that, you can also create a "Assign badges" priviledge, where users given that permission can only add and remove badges from users, but not administer the whole badges system, where they would be able to completely remove the global badge settings, add/change the images, and rename the badges. For example, this feature would be very useful for moderators, so they can assign badges to members, but not being able to have a chance to screw up the whole badges system.

Another possibly more difficult (and very optional) feature would be to allow certain users to allocate a group of badges to themselves. In other words, certain badges that users can give (only) themselves without badge admins having to assign them. For example, badges such as: I use FireFox badge, I play football badge, don't need to be admin assigned, as users should be able to do so themselves. Wheras badges that say: I am a moderator, I have over 1000 posts, should be only admin approved.

Thank you for your consideration.

Thanks for the reply,

I'm definitely looking forward to the implementation of these ideas.
It would be great if you could now make an alpha release too!

The first feature is in the D6 dev release.

The second feature I think might be easier implemented using some other system. For example, you could use the profile and rules modules to have a series of checkboxes the user can tick about themselves, each one of which assigns a badge.
