it appears that my original site which makes use of left and right columns filled with blocks does not display properly at all - the home page is all crazy, shows blank lines for most menu items and for two just says 'details' without the actual name (e.g. 'business' or other category in primary links)...

is there any basic documentation you could provide about the best site structure to optimize this (e.g. 'no secondary links' or 'avoid use of blocks' and so on? for example, forums break the css completely, turns to a white page with bullet points up top and so on....

As someone who has just figured this out (to some degree) I might be able to offer some answers to anyone else looking.

iUI merely displays the primary and secondary menus. There is, as far as I can tell, no way to display any other blocks/menus (although I'm about to take a look at ctools...). What I have done is create a new menu - "Mobile Menu", and set this new menu as the source for the "Primary Links". Next, you need to disable the display of primary links in the configuration for you default theme, then enable *only* the primary links (again, you could use secondary - it's up to you) in the configuration for iUI.

Also, your question about blank/empty menu items... I can't imagine the reasoning behind this - but iUI uses the description for the menu items as the link text rather than the title. Your blank menu items do not have a description set.

Lastly, it's worth pointing out that iUI is not the only mobile theme. It simply provides an interface that looks and acts like the usual iPhone interface. My short experience with it has led me to believe that it may be useful to put a select set of links that I think mobile users might be interested in. You may have also noticed that it doesn't handle dhtml menus making a heirarchy impossible (as far as I know).

HTH,
Justin

Justin thx for the update/info. I also have the same problem-- when using the SwitchTheme module to automatically change to this iUI theme on the iPhone, it does seem to change the theme BUT I get no menus and the text is amazingly small. I'm wondering if I have everything configured right? I didn't originally have my Primary Menu descriptions set, so I went and added those along with editing the iUI theme setting to display Primary Links in the Header, as well as reset my iPhone browser cache and reloaded, but still no joy... just blank lines/single dots for menus followed by one line that says "details" with my main site text/body below that. Any additional input or ideas appreciated. thx!
