Managed by the Australian Government Department of Finance, govCMS is a content management system available to all levels of Australian government. Built on Drupal, we aim to simplify Government ICT and eliminate duplication of activities across agencies by providing them with a platform to design, develop and host websites. This reduces the technology and compliance burden on government agencies while providing a more cost-effective option for managing websites, allowing agencies to focus on providing high quality content and services to people.

Drupal contributions

The govCMS team is responsible for developing and maintaining the govCMS and govCMS8 distributions as well as partnering with external developer agencies on development of the govCMS_CKAN, Data Visualisation Framework and govCMS Consultation modules.

the govCMS team has been a key supporter of Drupal in Australia and New Zealand, delivering a closing keynote speech on the use of Drupal in government at DrupalSouth 2016, were also the Diamond sponsor of DrupalGov 2017, presenting at DrupalSouth 2017 and were a Platinum sponsor of DrupalSouth 2018.

Our team has organised and hosted a number of mega-meetings and camps, bringing together agencies across Australia to discuss govCMS and Drupal and collaborate further on a common strategic direction.
