Acquia Commerce Manager

Acquia Commerce Manager is a cloud service that enables teams to deliver a content-rich, commerce experience.

Acquia Commerce Manager facilitates integration between Drupal and the eCommerce platform (currently supporting Magento 2.x). With this setup, the eCommerce platform handles administration tasks around product creation and management as well as maintains all transactional data, while the Drupal site handles product pages, product listings, and checkout forms. With this integration, you can more effectively enhance your online product pages and catalogs, embed a shopping experience into your branded content and media, and more easily enable teams to create ambitious digital experiences.

Benefits

Acquia Commerce Manager can provide a headless commerce solution with Drupal as the experience layer. Using an open framework for integrating content and commerce on a native cloud platform, Acquia Commerce Manager helps unify development, reduce transactional bottlenecks, improve security, and help commerce and marketing teams drive improved business outcomes with greater efficiency.

As part of this solution, customers have the ability to easily apply content for commerce use cases and customize product display, promotions or cart checkout flow. Acquia Commerce Manager's commerce connector service handles the communication between the Drupal website and the eCommerce system. Acquia Commerce Manager provides customers with the ability to extend access to other solutions of the Acquia Platform to personalize their digital experience throughout the customer journey. This includes Acquia Lift for personalization, Acquia Journey for connecting the customer experience across touchpoints, Acquia DAM for digital asset management, and Acquia Cloud Edge for additional security protections.

Features

Acquia Commerce Manager provides a connector to your commerce solution, and has the following features out-of-the-box:

  • Categories and products synchronization

Categories are stored in a hierarchical taxonomy and products are stored as SKU entities for every possible SKU, with nodes for the displayable products. Drupal can be used to build the expected features — such as a navigation menu, product listing pages, products search, and product detail pages. These features can then integrate with your commerce solution for product details that include initial price, final price, and configurable options, such as size or color, cross sell, textual fields, and media galleries.

  • Cart management

Acquia Commerce Manager provides a cart mechanism for products, including an Add to cart functionality that can be customized for single products or multiple products on a webpage, as well as a cart summary for your website header, content summary, and support for promotional codes. It also synchronizes with your commerce solution, allowing for persistent carts if your user's shopping experience is interrupted.

  • Checkout flow

Acquia Commerce Manager provides a default checkout workflow for your use that can also be customized to suit the needs of your organization.

  • User management

The commerce solution can be used as customer repository and even as authentication backend. A local copy of the user is stored in Drupal, which is pushed to the commerce solution after every update.

  • Promotions

Acquia Commerce Manager supports promotions in your commerce system which can be synchronized to the Acquia Commerce Manager system. Promotion management tasks such as assigning coupon durations, assigning which products are eligible for promotion etc. are managed in the eCommerce backend and shared to Drupal for use to create promotional content.

  • Price and Stock Checks

Using Acquia Commerce Manager, price & stock in your commerce system are mapped to fields on the SKU entity in Drupal. Drupal tracks available inventory when items are added to carts and refreshes from eCommerce system upon completion of orders.

  • Mulitlingual

Acquia Commerce Manager supports multiple languages, so you can meet the needs of your customers in multiple regions. After your store is configured, content creation or updates on your commerce system will be pushed to Drupal.
