Ekologi brez meja

Ecologists without Borders is a non-profit founded in 2009 and one of the leading Slovenian NGOs dedicated to improving the state of our environment — focusing on waste at its source. The vision of our organization is “A world without waste”, and our mission is to minimize its production and transform the remainder into resources and new jobs.

We are certainly proud of our Let’s Clean up Slovenia projects, with which we managed to activate over 289,000 volunteers, or over 14 % of the population - in one day, twice. This is still a world record in general as far as we know, but definitely among the 150 countries united in the global Let’s do it! movement. We managed to connect individuals, businesses, NGOs, the Slovenian army, police, municipalities, and even the President’s office, who later decorated us with the order of merit. The two campaigns held in 2010 and 2012 are still considered the largest volunteer events in the history of our nation.

In the following years we focused our work primarily on various aspects of waste prevention, reuse, recycling and Zero Waste strategies.
