We are looking at ways to allow every member of our community to create their own side links. This is functionality that every community site could use. We would love to hear from the community about ways this has been approached before. Thanks.

The bookmarks.module will do that for you..

Maybe worth mentioning that I pieced together a similar, quicklinks.module a while back for Jeff at bloggator.com

the way it works is very similar to the bookmarks.module but also lets users specify their own front page..i.e. when a user logs in, their own "quicklinks" menu appears and they can add the current page to their quicklinks menu by just clicking.

You can try it out at Jeffs Bloggator.com site..or get it from my drupal sandbox. the only difference between quicklinks.module and bookmarks.module is the front page thing..

hope that helps

If I'm not mistaken the bookmarks module is really more for "users" of drupal to bookmark sites.

What I'm looking for is a feature which allows users to specify a list of published links that OTHERS, even anonymous visitors see...in the margin of their blog.

I see a similar request here. This seems like something that every blog site would use....so I'm just wondering if anyone has anything to update it.

is that a definitive NO, or just a sorry, not today, no?
