reCAPTCHA for d8 requires the CAPTCHA module, but the CAPTCHA d8 module is a "pre-release" version, which, by the way, has not been updated in over two and a half years as of Aug 2019.

How is it that reCAPTCHA is a stable release with a dependency on a pre-release module, which appears is not going to be released?

Is CAPTCHA ever going to become a released version or should I be looking elsewhere for anti-spam functionality in d8?

Maybe I'm missing something here....

Recaptcha is stable and works well with alpha release of captcha or later dev.

Captcha maintainers said many times they will release very soon. Maybe we ask them why this has not happened until now.
