I notice the drupal 6 version has a default built-in "owner permissions" tab , what is this exactly ?

gordon CreditAttribution: gordon commentedI am not sure what you are speaking of exactly, but if it is the owner permissions of the form where you assign the permissions on the node add/edit page then this is the method that you can use to assign the content owner permissions directly.
This intended use is mainly for actions but can be used elsewhere.

It's utterly confusing:
I have an "access profile" named "Grant page view access to" and an "access group" named "anonymous user" with the enabled role "anonymous user". What i'm trying to implement is a way for any authenticated user to hide a node from anonymous users without hiding the nodes menu entry from authenticated users. This seems to work fine with simple_access, but what's bugging me is the unavoidable "owner permissions" option on the node edit form. What does it mean in this context? What's happening, if enabled? Etc.
I think it would be a lot less confusing, if this option would only appear when assigned to the profile group.
Thanks in advance, and many thanks for this module.

piquef CreditAttribution: piquef commentedI have also been curious about this feature - I have enabled the Owner Permissions checkbox and then looked for evidence that it does anything - to no avail. Please can someone explain what it does and why it appears in the Access section when creating a node? Thank you.

Author is probably very busy. That's okay of course. But would be nice to know.
