Hi, I work for Lucidworks (https://lucidworks.com/). We have a developed a Connector for Drupal 8 with support from Thomas Scola at Acquia. I'd like to get a confirmed account so that I can start the process of putting our connector on the Drupal marketplace.

As for getting the "Confirmed" user role, please see the page Become a 'confirmed' user for information on the role and how it is granted. Currently, there are no (0) posts except this one associated with this account, so there is nothing to review. After you have posted some content on Drupal.org you may want to add a comment to this issue to request a new review.

Also: You need not get the 'Confirmed' role from a webmaster. Senior community members have the the 'Community' role and can click the 'Confirm user' button and confirm you. You may ask a some of the people you work with to confirm you.

Do I need a special user status to add an organization using the link: https://www.drupal.org/node/add/organization. I get a 403 when I click the link on the marketplace page.

Yes, to create an organization node, your account needs to be confirmed.

I confirmed the account (which from the button I saw on this page was still not confirmed).

I noticed that sometimes the confirmation of accounts isn't immediately shown as it normally does.
I cannot say the reason (I guess cache issues), but the Confirm button users with the permission to approve accounts see is still shown even if the account should have been confirmed. It also seems that the account doesn't get confirmed, even if the confirmation button has been clicked. (This would explain why you still saw a 403 error when trying to create an organization node.)
