I'm using the theme on http://www.rapsli.ch/drupal/ I think it's awesome. I though think the content can get lost in the boxes. Maybe giving the content box a little different background-color???

Why don't customize it within your custom.css? It is controlled by .node .content. Dummy example (without testing):

.node .content {
  background-color: #FF0000;
}
