Would be great if taxonomies could be chosen and the alink would automatically go to that taxonomy page.....trying to think of a way to have alinks go to a dictionary, or glossary....
I guess it wouldn't necessarilly be the taxonomy term, but rather the title of the node.....
So, I guess the feature that I would like to see is that you could select a content type and the node titles would automatically convert (not case sensitive) to alinks.....
Ideas?

brianbrown CreditAttribution: brianbrown commentedHi Jason!
It would be useful if all whitespace was ignored. For instance, the term:
China Jason
would render correctly on a lookup for the term "China Jason" while neither
China
Jason
or
China Jason
which both correctly parse in any browser as:
China Jason
would be ignored by this module!
(Probably should also ignore any non-printing" characters,i.e., noin-breaking space, etc.)
Thanks!

brianbrown CreditAttribution: brianbrown commentedWell, my HTML tags got stripped off, so I'll substitute parentheses:
(html)(Body)
China
Jason
(/body)(/html)
or
(html)(Body)
China [al bog glob of whitespace here] Jason
(/body)(/html)
which both correctly parse in any browser as:
China Jason
would be ignored by this module!

brianbrown CreditAttribution: brianbrown commentedHi again, Jason!
Its me, the Feature Request Pest!
You might want to consider making the external link icon an option, since folks using the extlink module will see two icons.
Thanks!

Open mouth,insert foot!
I see that by removing the module's class "alinks-link" the icon disappears!

If this is considered, please only make it as an option, with the default as is.
As alinks has no option to ignore for defined nodes, I use doublespace between two words to achieve this as alinks then fails to match. Unfortunately it only works in two word scenarios.
RE #6
You could overide the css that adds the icon or maybe just remove the default class when creating a link

brianbrown CreditAttribution: brianbrown commentedIt would be nice if the link(s) for the present page were ignored. It might make the webmaster look a little foolish if a link pointed to the same page you were viewing.

check out #228040: Exclude linked page its old and may no longer work
Comment #12
brianbrown CreditAttribution: brianbrown commentedGee, thanks, John! I'll check this out! I have other problems right now, namely I cannot get the alinks module to work at all and somehow I am no longer able to edit any nodes. I just get a "Page not found." Yokes!
Regards,
Brian

Anonymous (not verified) CreditAttribution: Anonymous commentedI have Alinks running on 2 seperate instalations, no real issues. I did find that when the number of links gets to a certain point, editing becomes an isssue. If the link is high in the list you can save it, but if its lower, memory can be exhausted. I spent days trying to figure why changing some links got saved whilst others didn't
You can still create them and get them to work, just not edit. Might be worth raising a new issue with as much detail as you can on what can bedone and what cant

johnTEN CreditAttribution: johnTEN commentedIt would be nice if it did not insert links in headers. We have h2-h3 inline in the nodes and it just looks strange to have the link in the headers.
