I have updated the 5.x version with same changes than in Drupal 6.x version ( http://drupal.org/node/279843#comment-1038475 )
Also added the settings form patch ( http://drupal.org/node/307023 )
It worked fine to me for over a month.

Thanks for the patch. I merged this with the new changes and committed this to CVS.
