Hi all,

Just recently switched to Drupal and I'm loving it. Slight problem though - I was hoping to include a block on the sidebar listing the titles of the latest site news posts. From what I gather, the solution is here: http://drupal.org/node/31295#comment-63224

The first instruction is to

...create a content type called company news and created a Vocabulary for that block and assigned that vocabulary to the company news content type.

which sounds simple enough....but I can't figure out how to create content types. Taxonomy allows *vocabulary* to be created, and content-->configure allows content types to be *viewed*, but I can't seem to create new content types anywhere.

there is a module called flexinode that will allow you to add content types with fields of your choice.

Depending on your needs you could create your own simple node without too much coding - check out this conversation on the Difference between Page and Story.
