Hi, I was wondering if there was a way for me to disable usage of email from drupal... I don't have an email server available to me... full stop... don't suggest to me the use of a third party server... I don't have access to one, end of story >_>
Is there a way to change drupal such that a user creates a password during registration and they are not emailed? If not then I recommend it as a feature for a future release... not everyone has access to mail servers...
any help welcomed :D

You can probably hack the source to do what you want. Drupal however relies on the exstence of an email address for a lof ot modules so you might be shooting your own foot.

Er, you dont need a mail
Er, you dont need a mail server. What you need is the sendmail program (on unix) or an equivalent program on your OS.
If you meant that your Drupal website is cut off from the rest of the net then I understand.
yeah... that...
Yeah, that's kinda what I meant... I have NO experience with sendmail (I am on linux, and it installed though). Erm... I may be able to configure it for my particular situation... but I'm not sure... anyone wanna explain how to set up sendmail so I can find out if it is possible for me?
