Many features of Better Formats are not needed by everyone and it would be nice to be able to consume them in a more precise manner.
This will be pretty easy to do after #371776: Break out format hook code is completed.
Possible code for breaking out:
- Display settings
- Allowed formats
- Content type defaults

mrbrowny CreditAttribution: mrbrowny commentedNo please, don't brake the code out into smaller modules!
Don't make us to install 4 different modules to have all the wonderful funcionality of this wonderful module.
I'm afraid the module to become messy and annoying to use...
You made a great module that its outstading against Default Filter, Filter Default and many other input filters modules, i don't like the unnecesary idea of separating this module into more modules.
Please think about it twice. May be you can re-arrange the layout to make the separation you want, but i think there are more users that use all the funcionalitys of this great mode rather than users that use some specific features.
Also if you keep this module together may be its added to core funcionality.
Thanks anyway for this great module!

codevoice CreditAttribution: codevoice commentedI disagree with mrbrowny. I would prefer to be able to install only the functionality I need, and keep the installed module base as small and simple as possible.

crea CreditAttribution: crea commentedmrbrowny, do you know what code bloat is ? It's when you have > 100 modules and your site starts to crawl like a turtle, because modules include all features together. Modules should split features so end users don't get unmanagable monster of code.
Yes, browsing long list of modules is annoying, but you do it only when installing or removing a module. Code bloat, OTOH, hits you on every page load.
