Thanks a lot for putting this online. This is the kind of transparency we need more of!

this is awesome to share. couldn't agree more! i know this thread might not be the right forum, but it'd also be nice to have a better understanding of the costs the drupal association incurs.

at the los angeles meetups we regularly suggest donating to http://association.drupal.org/ (or chipping in to a project) as a method of contributing if you're too new or your skillset / time doesn't allow you to contribute code directly. but it'd be nice to have numbers to point people to that demonstrate how / why those contributions are needed.

I agree, too many people and organizations are secretive and shady. This just proves that Drupal(and WP! lol) are the best platforms out there.

Echoing congratulations to the fine folks who made this conference what it was: Development Seed, Bonnie, volunteers, and everyone.

I know that the Drupal Association is not a US non-profit, so is there another 501c3 that can take in that kind of profit without losing a percentage to taxes and so on? Forgive me, I don't know much about corporate or tax law.

I know about the DA, but I was curious if all of this income can go straight to the DA or if some of the final tally has to be lost to capital gains or other taxes since it's not a US 501c3.

I like the top menu bar, it's kind of unique. Can you share the theme with us?

thanks

Looks better this way. Lets hope this goes one notch up where community sees Drupal Association annual accounts.

Ticket sales $230,750 + Sponsorships $311,700 = $542,450. But the total revenue mentioned before that is $542,350. One of the numbers is off by a 100.

whatever the typo, i had a good time, that's cool you're trying to show the money aspect of the conference. probably took a lot of work beyond the "dollar signs" to do what you did in DC, but hopefully next year I'll be some of the sponsor dollars so it's all good. Unless the retards on wall street keep hiring kids fresh out of college...So perhaps, i'll just be the poor farmer I am... either way, open source rocks, and the effort is far worth it if you think of it from a transcendental point of view like from the future and whatnot. Thanks Dries, and co. : )

Very cool, thanks :)
Just a suggestion, since the current screenshot image is over 350kb and loads pretty slow... if you'd like, please switch to this version which I scaled to the same dimensions, sharpened, and compressed to look good at about 3x smaller file size, 100kb: http://www.davidnewkerk.com/files/img/drupalcondc-numbers.jpg
(upload it to Flickr/etc before using it please)

Again, thanks for all your amazing work!
