On admin/settings/ldap/ldapauth is an option labeled Remove password change fields from user edit form
.
This doesn't make sense in Mixed Mode, where some Drupal accounts may have no association with an Active Directory.

miglius CreditAttribution: miglius commentedThis is mot explicitly noted in the configuration settings description, but the password field is removed only for account which authenticate against LDAP server. Local Drupal accounts are not touched.

This prevents the creation and maintenance of non-ldap accounts. In mixed mode we still want these options, but possibly want to change the instructions/descriptions so that people with LDAP accounts don't try and use them.
