Has anybody had any good experiences with hostbasic/hostpro plans of Site 5, particularly when using the flash video module (which requires FFMPEG).

I am creating a small sized website. Users will not be able to upload video, but the site admin team (which consists of two people) will be able to occasionally upload video (around 8 clips a month).

Any opinions (or alternative recommendations) would be most appreciated.

I was just browsing and thought I would open my big mouth.. hopefully not inserting foot..lol
I am not real sure about FFMPEG.. u would have to send a contact message and ask just to be sure..

I have been at http://www.HotDrupal.com for a while now and it's a great place.
Managed VPS, easy price, great support, hybrid servers, optimized just for Drupal.
I don't know how much disk space you need, but I have never even come close to the limit yet and upgrade plan is always there if u need it.
I do know one thing for sure.. lol.. the servers fly, my sites run very fast without any fancy cache stuff. I am running 75 to 80 modules with videos.

Hi,

Site 5 has provided FFMPEG for flash video module. You need to post support ticket for FFMPEG installation. They will enable for it after post support ticket.

Bluehost will be a good choice for you, their hosting should work for video module very well.

But just keep in mind that most of shared hostings won't work well in high traffic web site (usually it's around 200ip), you might need to consider VPS when necesary.

Keep in mind that FFMPEG is usually a resource hog. So pick a hosting provider that can handle that load.
