If you have dozens of templates created, the interface at the top features links to the individual templates but in a single row:
"Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template Template"
Since there isn't any individual names given for these templates (and if some of them are entirely off the screen, perhaps a template filter is in order. Much like the content list.

I don't have dozens but i do have 34. No expert, but it sounds like a thmeing issue? have you looked in Garland

Attached is a screen shot. It is the menu structure when viewing individual templates. I am rethinking perhaps not a filter but maybe removing that menu entirely from the individual templates - although, it is helpful to have it there.
You will see only one "Template" off the side but there are actually 12 or so.
