At the moment administrators can define help text for their content types. This facility should be extended so that administrators can define help text individually for different fields.

Indeed. I'd like for the field module to define default text which can be overridden per instance.

Sorry to post a me too, but me too. Definately a +1.
I also feel it should be specific to the widget. That is, if I have a field called shortdescr and it is used on content type Person as field 'hair-color' and on content type Locaiton as field 'City' I should be able to have a different description for each.
