Because Drupal's menu system will not accept contextual URL paths - such as user profile pages - I need to assign a version of Four Seasons theme with a hard coded version of the menu. I understand from this articel: http://www.jakob-persson.com/node/535 that this can be done by referencing the mid value of the menu to be rendered.
Any ideas on how to achieve this with Four Season?

I did try the 'me' alias module before. Unfortunately it only works for the primary menu - secondary links do not show up.
In general it appears Drupal will not allow secondary links for the menu path: user
All link set below a primary item with this path appear as primary links.
