The browser window that pops up when you click an advanced help link has no navigation controls. In some cases you can use the context menu to navigate back, but in cases where the online documentation links to external websites containing things like tutorial videos even this is occasionally disabled, leaving you with no obvious means of returning to the help documentation you were looking at other than closing the help window and starting from the beginning again by clicking whatever Drupal object it was that launched help in the first place.

Since Advanced Help now appears to be the only official documentation source for some modules (e.g. Views) where online handbooks are no longer available I think it would be entirely appropriate to provide better navigation facilities instead of trying to mimic the Windows style context help tool windows, if indeed that is the intent.

Popups are meant for contextual help and should likely not contain external links, or actually any links to something that would not fit the popup format.

Normal advanced_help pages do not have this restriction, and should be used for normal redacted help, and do not cause any navigation problem.

Can you point to actual advanced_help files with popups pointing to external links ?
