I am using my own custom theme. I don't mind using a separate admin theme, such as the default admin theme that comes with this admin module. I really like the concept, and it reminds me of an advanced cpanel. So, I am used to having 2 separate themes.

However, once I activate this module, it rips the administer link right from the main navigational menu. Which is fine, but How in the "World" am I suppose to get back to the administration panel? I mean I would need to bookmark the admin url, just to get back.

But, that really isn't my biggest issue. My biggest issue is that this admin module rips out the helpful hints that "originally" certain pages might have in the admin area. Such as going to the modules area. There used to be the helpful tips, the Helpful notes, the special links that are highly important.

For example, before installing your admin panel module, the helpful tip information or special warnings would have been displayed. But, not with your admin module. It rips it right out.

For example (listed at the top of the modules page before installing your admin module):

"Modules are plugins that extend Drupal's core functionality. Enable modules by selecting the Enabled checkboxes below and clicking the Save configuration button. Once a module is enabled, new

    permissions

may be available. To reduce server load, modules with their Throttle checkbox selected are temporarily disabled when your site becomes extremely busy. (Note that the Throttle checkbox is only available if the Throttle module is enabled.)

It is important that

    update.php

is run every time a module is updated to a newer version.

You can find all administration tasks belonging to a particular module on the

    administration by module page.

To extend the functionality of your site, a number of

    contribute modules

are available.

See the

    available updates

page for information on installed modules and themes with new versions released.

The configuration options have been saved.

No information is available about potential new releases for currently installed modules and themes. To check for updates, you may need to

    run cron

or you can

    check manually

Please note that checking for available updates can take a long time, so please be patient."

Anything underlined in the above quote, linked to a certain link.

So, my only issues is that this admin module removes the admin link from the navigational menu, making it harder to get to the admin panel, and it removes many of the important "helpful tips";"update messages";"important facts";"and useful news or information" directly from the admin panel.

I am very hesitant from using this admin module because I can't be sure what else was ripped out, that may be highly important for us drupal newbies.

Hopefully, the admin module author will reconsider adding these features or explaining how to get these features back.

I was wondering exactly the same myself as I find the "hints" at the top of the modules page a great way to access update.php permissions, etc.

Is there a way to turn these back on, or perhaps have a collapsible fieldset?

Just found them. There's a "Need Help?" link on the same level as the breadcrumbs and over towards the right near the search. That toggles them open and closed ;-)

I was thinking about closing this issue, but thought after reading this thread that i really didn't know where those help items were as well. I have noticed the "Need Help?" link, but never used it.

In short, I dont think the "Need Help?" link is close enough to the content of the page to immediately notice the link between content and help.

I attached an image showing a proposed solution, though i don't know if it is still what would be best. With all the discussions about the slate design I have not researched if this has already been talked about and decided upon, but thought it was worth bringing up.

In the image I suggest we move the "Need Help?" button to the left of the tabs and split have the help open from between the search box and the tabs.

Another location would be to somehow include it into the top of the white content area and open the help at the top of the content area.

It definitely needs to be made more intuitive.

I think part of the problem, is that it doesn't look like there's a collapsed fieldset at the top of the page, just a simple text link which doesn't sound relevant (I thought it was going to take me to the Drupal help when I first clicked it).
If it was located in the area where the status messages and such like appear, ie below the two tabs and within the section that has collapsing fieldsets, it would be more obvious.
