Hi there,
In previous versions of heartbeat there was a shout box which functioned somewhat like the facebook status update feature. In the latest versions of heartbeat, this block is no longer available in any of the interfaces. Can you please let me know how to enable it or how to create my own.
Thanks in advance...

I decided to not use the shout form for facebook status updates since there is a module doing just that. so how to create your own? Well download facebook_status.
Actually i am not fully decided yet, since you comment this topic. Should heartbeat have such a comment box or should heartbeat just do the logging and let other modules do that.
By the way, you could just do the same thing as shouts did by taking the old module , renaming it or extracting the needed functions to log to heartbeat. It really is just an ajax driven form that invokes a rules event. The simplest way is to build a form with ahah and call the api log function in the submit.
