In Drupal is it possible to have 2 forums, one for everyone, and an other "by invitation only"? Can the "by invitation only" forum then be invisible for everyone else?

I've been looking for stable vocabulary, term & node permissions and I think this is what you'll need for forums the way you (and others) would like them: private and permission only to specific groups, not roles. Haven't found it/them yet. For now it's time to upgrade from the installs I did last month and see which modules break...

This is not possible at the moment without some coding. It depends on the forthcoming permission system. Maybe file a feature request or augment an existing request?

Hi Dries,
Ok, well a non-coding workaround might be to create create a 2nd Drupal site which shares logins. Have a role/permission link protected page which leads to the 2nd site, and share logins/passwords with the 2nd site.
