I've been using node form columns and I am loving it. I really makes some of the add/edit pages more appealing and usable for my users. In some cases I've hidden pieces like the list of groups a user can post to. What I have found now is that those hidden fields cannot be modified at all, even user 1. There are work arounds with rules, admin content list screen, etc. but it might be nice to allow certain roles to ignore the "hide" option and be able to modify these fields.
