First, thank you for porting this! One of the best-looking Drupal themes so far.

Second... ;)

I'm sure sure if this is intentional or not, but the header background doesn't cover the entire upper area on screens larger than 1280px wide... it cuts off and leaves whitespace at both ends. It looks a little wonky on bigger screens, especially since the red-and-black border at the bottom of every page properly spans the entire width no matter what.

Is there a quick fix for this?

I confirm the same bug with Firefox 1.5.0.4 (Windows and Linux versions) and I can add another one. It now concerns the red&black bar in the footer. Instead of being displayed at the bottom of the window (like under IE 6), it is displayed right below the footer message (copyright...) and so, most of the times, in the middle of the screen, cutting menus and block on the sides.
