Hey,

It looks like keys implements similar stuff as domain and spaces - for the time being, there is domain support in the 1.x version of OpenLayers and it is removed in 2.x, because the spaces module provides the same functionality without any code modifications. Both domain access and spaces are pretty generalized and have a large user base - if you need to manage, say, Google Maps API keys between different domains, check out either of em.
