Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
With Drupal 7 just around the corner and the amazing momentum garnered by CCK and Views it no longer seems worthwhile to port job_posting module to D7 and extend its life beyond the EOL of D6. Job posting served its purpose (for me at least) at a time when CCK/Views lagged behind and I wanted something simple and unencumbered by dependencies for what was then the newly-minted D6. Unless the community can provide a compelling reason to do otherwise, I will NOT be supporting the module beyond D6 EOL. Any feedback is welcome.

Ivan Zugec CreditAttribution: Ivan Zugec commentedHi Gmarus,
I have been working on creating a recruit module on Drupal 7. I really just started on it to learn the new D7 field API but I do think there is potential in having a good recruit module for Drupal. Seeing as D7 supports both private and public files you'll be able to offer some great application/candidate features.
I have started on a module called recruit (only locally have not submitted it to d.org) which in the future will support application/candidate tracking including job posting. But instead of creating yet another module I would rather work on creating a job posting 7.x module.
Check out the module, I have attached it to this comment.
Let me know what you think.
cheers.

I would like to see this module ported to D7. There is no indication that Job Search will be ported to D7 and therefore no Job module for D7. Also, it has taken a VERY long time for that module to even get a stable release on D6!
Will you be adding any new features to the current D6 version?
Thanks.

mmtahir CreditAttribution: mmtahir commentedThe Job Posting future on D7 seems to be dark, it is good that someone with a like or better module comes up with for D7.

dasjoas job_posting and recruit are discontinued, check out the Recruiter drupal 7 distribution

zanndoth CreditAttribution: zanndoth commentedWhile Recruiter is meant for a full pledge recruitment site, it is not suitable for websites that just want to post jobs availabilities only for the company. I find Recruit to be more suitable for such task. Especially when a single website represent a few smaller companies.
Anyone knows a similar module for D7?

Anonymous (not verified) CreditAttribution: Anonymous commentedCan you incorporate recruiter for a section of your site? or does it have to be the whole site?

dasjoRecruiter is built of modular features - see http://drupal.org/project/recruiter_features
therefore you can use single parts like the recruiter_job feature that provides job postings, while recruiter_job_search provides search capabilities on top of that.

subhojit777I have a Drupal 6 site where this module is used. I cannot use recruiter distribution, since the site is not particularly meant for job posting features.
I checked recruit module, the module is still in development (checked from drush) and not maintained anymore.
Therefore, I am going to port this module to Drupal 7. I am also planning to provide an upgrade path. I will notify in this issue link about my progress.
