Hi there,

ISSUE:
So installed SWF tools and using 1 Pixel Out to play .mp3 files that are located on mediafire.com (external file server).

EXAMPLE: http://ggsacademy.com/shabadvichar/sikhdipechancd
If you try to play any audio file by clicking on the play button you will notice that the ID3 information for that .mp3 file is unavailable. It says: "Track #1". Try any other file and you will see the same thing.

MISC:
So I've searched online and through drupal but have had a hard time figuring out what I'm doing wrong. I've installed the new player.swf from the provider.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Version: 5.x-2.4 » 6.x-2.5

Same problem here with version 6.x-2.5: I use 1 pixel out, media on an external server and no ID3 tags.Just "Track 1" appears ...

If you know there are ID3 tags on the file, then your issue may be the same as described in http://drupal.org/node/541864. Try converting the tags to a lower version.

If, like me, that truncated metadata isn't really acceptable, here's my solution for pulling track data to be displayed from a cck field: http://drupal.org/node/541864#comment-2635892

Sounds like this is because you are referring to files that are outside of your domain (see http://wpaudioplayer.com/frequently-asked-questions). For convenience, I've copied the text below.

By default, the player gets the track information from the ID3 tags of the mp3 file. These tags are usually set by the software you used to create the file. If they are set correctly, you should see the artist and title in the player.

However, Adobe recently changed their Flash Player to restrict access to ID3 tags if the file is located on a different domain than the player itself. In this case, the player cannot access the tags. Make sure your files are located on the same server and exactly the same domain. The player won’t be able to read the ID3 tags even if the file is located on a subdomain (e.g. your blog url is yourdomain.com and your files are on www.yourdomain.com).

The WP Audio page describes using a small xml file to allow cross linking. I'll build that in when I get support for the new player up and running.

Hi Stuart,

First of all, many thanks for the SWF Tools module; I used it three years ago on a small Drupal 5 website and the 6.x-2.5 version that I just installed works perfectly.

About the "Track #1" problem, I have added the URL to the mp3 file (thanks to a free ID3 tag editor) without the www and it works fine even if the podcast is played with the www. Please note that the player.swf comes from the latest "audio-player.2.0.4.1.zip" package. I would be delighted to show you a lively example but the website is under construction at the moment.

Regards,

Gilles

I'm having the same problem. So far I haven't manage to display anything else than "Track #1". Anyone who can confirm that this is actually working in the 1 Pixel Out player? (I'm using the latest 6.x-3.x-dev of SWF Tools.)
