Work on the 6.x-3.x is proving pretty extensive, and two key changes will fix a namespace collision, and see the support libraries move to a new location within the Drupal site structure (which will make future upgrading easier).

Seeing as there are some large changes now seems as good a time as any to retire some of the old modules and tidy things up a bit.

So, I'm ear marking the Lutman, UFO and original SWF Object embedding methods for retirement, along with the JW3 media player.

The embedding methods are old and are all superceded by SWF Object 2, and JW3 has seen JW4 and JW5 come along.

Therefore I don't plan to include these modules in the 6.x release.

If anyone really, really wants one of these old methods then post here. But if no-one shouts then they will head off to wherever old modules go when they're done!

Title: JW3, Lutman, UFO and SWF Object are retiring! » Problem with SWF Tools 6.x-3-x-dev and Arcade Module

I don't know if it's due to the changes in the new approach of SWF tools, but, those of us using the arcade module allowing games in .swf format to be put into flash nodes are now not getting the swf files to come up. I'm just seeing "You are missing some Flash content that should appear here! Perhaps your browser cannot display it, or maybe it did not initialize correctly."

was working fine before the 2/14 updates..

Oops!

I'm currently travelling so can't look at this until end of next week. Can you post a code sample from the page that isn't working, and can you check you site logs to see if you're getting any "page not found" errors to see if I broke something (which I obviously did!)

And using your current swftools dev. version, I have moved the files from shared to under the /sites/all/libraries directory and downloaded the correct versions of the players.. so.. something with Flash Video, Flash Node, and Arcade Module is looking to the swftools/shared directory still.. Using your code, I am able to still use audio (mp3s) and play .flv files just fine. Just when I try using .swf files, the support is now broken as of 2/14 developer version, to where when I try playing them, I get the "You are missing some Flash content that should appear here! Perhaps your browser cannot display it, or maybe it did not initialize correctly." error on the screen.

Also, when I go to swftools -> file handling, there are no players showing up for playing single .swf files, shouldn't there be at least one or two showing up in there? (like JW Media Player 3/4 or Flowplayer, or something?)

Is this still an issue with the BETA4 release?

In terms of players, there are no "players" as such for single SWFs (not strictly true - the FlexPaper pdf viewer uses a swf that is generated from a pdf - but for self contained swf no players).

The default "player" for a single swf should be "Display the swf directly on the page"

I've not actively looked in to this as I've never used the arcade module.

PS - you changed the title on this thread from "JW3, Lutman, UFO and SWF Object are retiring!" to "Problem with SWF Tools 6.x-3-x-dev and Arcade Module". The title on the original thread was specifically to alert people about this change - please don't change issue titles - raise a new issue! Thanks!!

Sorry about the change..

No I got it all straightened out.. had to change the pathing of all the players and find where they needed to be placed now (the libraries under the sites/all/libraries directory. All working fine now..

Great!

Reverting title to original, and status to needs review so I can close this when 6.x-3.x comes out.
