Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
The documentation for hook_element_info()
has a link to the page http://drupal.org/node/169815, which reports information that is valid for Drupal 6; a page containing information for Drupal 7 should be created, and that link should be updated for the new page.

jhodgdonThere were not major Form API changes between Drupal 6 and Drupal 7... but we do need to update the docs.
I have filed an issue in the Documentation queue to update the FAPI docs for Drupal 7. I think we'll be able to keep the same URL for Drupal 7, as most of FAPI hasn't changed, but if not, we'll need to update the link.

jp.stacey CreditAttribution: jp.stacey at Magnetic Phield commentedThis is an old issue; the documentation at http://drupal.org/node/169815 now declares itself valid for both 6.x and 7.x; the issue for updating the form API docs is closed: with all that in mind, I'm going to close this as outdated.
If there are specific points in the documentation where 6.x and 7.x behaviour differs, and that isn't made clear in the docs, then that could be opened as a new bug report, focussed solely on those points.
