problem translating the index.module

i am having this problem translating the index.module used with janode.module:

i need to translate "index page" for "indice". i tried translating the strings through the locale module, with incomplete results. then i tried translating directly the indexpage.module, with incomplete rersults too. specificaly the title will not translate. Strange thing is i did a fresh install of the translated indexpage.module in test site with 100% good results, but when i reinstalled the module on production site, even after a cache-clear, i still have problems with the title not being translated... any sugestions?
